Experiencing Hong Kong - Shenzhen - Macau

This time, I want to write about holiday that my sister, brother, a friend (Vina), and me spent on New Year. Four of us joined another tour (Avia Tour) to go to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Macau from December 27, 2010 until January 2, 2011.

At Hong Kong International Airport

We had a morning flight with Garuda Indonesia and it took 4 hours 44 minutes to arrive in Hong Kong from Jakarta. And we arrived at Hong Kong International Airport in the afternoon. We went straight to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and stayed at Disney Hollywood Hotel which is located inside Disneyland for one night. We got two days pass to go in the Disneyland. The hotel was great. The receptionists were very friendly and the room was great. It's just great :D Anyway, it was pretty cold that time so hardly sweat. Ha ha ha. After we placed our luggage, we went down stairs and with the shuttle bus we went to Disneyland. Our first time here and it was really wonderful especially at night with a big giant Christmas tree. Honestly, when I saw the Christmas tree with artificial snow and lights from the stores; deep down I really wish you were there with me so we could shared the moment together (-__-) Anyway, we walked around, took some pictures, went into some stores, and played some games; then on the end of the night in the Disneyland, we watched fireworks. Wonderful!

After the fireworks, we went back to the hotel and had some sleep. The next morning, we had breakfast then walked around the hotel and took some photograph. Almost the time for Disneyland to open, we went there again with the shuttle bus. Same as yesterday, walked around, played some games, took some pictures, and went into some stores that we had not entered. Then on the afternoon, we checked out from Disney Hollywood Hotel and went across to Macau with a ferry.

Arrived in Macau, we went straight to The Venetian Macau Resort & Hotel where we will stay for the night. The hotel was really big. The room was great and clean, it was really big and the bathroom was big as well, there was two sink in the bathroom! Anyway, we also got our own living room. Modern Classic which is really great :) Anyway, there is a mall and casino below the hotel. Walked around the mall, took some pictures, and last, played at the casino. Well, just for fun :) Anyway, they build a replica of 'San Luca Canal' inside the mall. Time to go to bed...

The next morning (day 3), we went around Macau. First, we visited Ruin of St. Paul's then walked to Senado Square. Then walked again to Grand Lisboa and waited a little while until the bus picked us up to the next destination, A-Ma Temple. Pray a while there then moved back to Venetian Macau, well not exactly though. We went to the City of Dream across Venetian Macau to watch Dragon's Treasure Show. The show was really cool.

After watched the show, we went across to Shenzhen using a ferry. It was almost dark. After had dinner, we went to the hotel. We stayed at Best Western Felicity Hotel for two nights.

Inside of Window of the World's park

The next day, we went to Shenzhen Window of the World - a replica park - where there is a lot of replica from world's wonders, historical heritages, and famous scenic sites. Some of them are 1:15 scale or 1:5 scale or even there are 1:1 scale. It was a pretty cool place though.

Next, we went to Splendid of China where there are a lot of replicas of China's historical building and wonderful scenes. Anyway, we watched a traditional show from China. After that, we went back to hotel.

Another day (day 5), we went to the border and passed the immigration to go back to Hong Kong by bus. We visited Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong. Walked until the end of the road then walked back to the bus to go to the next place, Jumbo Floating Restaurant, Hong Kong.

We had lunch at Jumbo Floating Restaurant. It is a restaurant (a boat restaurant) in the middle of the water so in order to get there, we need to use a boat. After lunch, we headed to Repulse Bay. We visited and play for a while at Repulse Bay Beach. It was a great place and the sunset was beautiful from here.

After watching the sunset, we went to The Peak (The Peak Tram) where is located in Central district to go to Victoria Peak using the tram. We went in to Madame Tussaud's Hong Kong where is located inside Peak Tower. It is a wax museum founded by Marie Tussaud. Pretty cool place. Anyway, the view of Hong Kong at night from Victoria Peak was really something. Beautiful!

Anyway, after that, we went down by bus and back to the hotel. We stayed at L'hotel Causeway Bay Harbour View Hong Kong for two nights. Anyway, it's New Year's Eve tonight so after we put our luggage at the room, we went out to the Causeway Bay near Victoria Park facing the Times Square until the time showing 00:00 January 1, 2011 and watched fireworks. The fireworks was not really good though. After that, we headed back to the hotel.

The next day, the first day of 2011; we planned to go to Ngong Ping because it's a free time day. After had breakfast, we went to MTR (Mass Transit Railway) station which is located in front of L'hotel. We went straight to Lantau Island where Ngong Ping is located.

We stopped at Tung Chung - the last stop of Lantau Island - then using a cable car went to Ngong Ping. Arrived there, we went to see Big Buddha up close. It is really huge, 34 m tall. But, before that, we had to climb up the stairs first, pretty high; I forgot how many steps it is. Anyway, after that, we had lunch at City Gate Outlets. Then went back to walk around. We went to Harbour City - the city's biggest mall - where is located at Canton Road so we got out at Tsim Sha Tsui station. It was pretty late, so we went back to the hotel and packed because it was our last night in Hong Kong.

The next morning, the last day in Hong Kong; after had breakfast, we still have a little time, so four of us walked around. We went to a small book store (sorry, forgot the store's name) then walked through Victoria Park to a mall near it. Circling the mall for a while then went back to the hotel to wait for the pick up.

We headed to Hong Kong International Airport to fly back to Jakarta with Garuda Indonesia. And...finally landing in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, safe and sound :D Went back home...

Cheers,
